DETECTIVES investigating Saturday's assault on Broad Oak Road are appealing for dashcam footage or anyone who saw a turquoise Vauxhall Vectra in the area.

Officers were called to Broad Oak Road, Parr just after 9.30pm following reports of an assault.

A 35-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

Police say he "remains in a critical condition".

Mark Lewis, 34, of Hargreaves Street, Parr has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with the incident.

He appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Monday and has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on May 24.

Officers say an investigation remains ongoing and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries have been carried out in the local area.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the assault, or believes they may have dashcam footage which could assist the investigation, to come forward.

Detective Inspector Louise Birchall said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Broad Oak Road at around 9.30pm on Saturday night who may have seen anything or has any information which could assist the investigation to contact us.

"Similarly I would ask any taxi drivers or anyone with dashcams in their car who were in the area that night to check to see if they have captured anything significant.

"In particular I would like to find any footage or anyone who witnessed a turquoise Vauxhall Vectra in the area at around the same time to contact us."
