I looked in the mirror, what did I see?

A flippin’ owd codger looking back at me

I thought if that’s me, why have I changed so much?

I used to be a pretty maiden, all blonde and now I’m a dear owd dutch.

Look at all my wrinkles, if I try to smooth them out They always return

I’d get them shifted, if I had money to burn

My hair like straw, it used to be my pride

And my waist line has spread far and wide

These flippin corsets are killing me but with them I must abide

I’m trying to look thin as they keep it all in I wish I was slim

My once trim ankles, well where have they gone?

Now it’s extra wide fittings I have to put on

Folks stop the usual way and say Hello, how are you? and I say I’ll tell you if you’ve got all day.

Complaints I’ve got, so many still I know I’m

just one of a crowd with time

But I’m not alone, you will be behind

Learning like I did to take life with a smile and just give thanks for that extra mile.
