I MADE the trip up the Rainford By-pass to Ormskirk on Saturday afternoon.
It was heartening to see a bustling little town centre, with a market and a strong selection of independent restaurants, bars and cafes.
There’s a Waterstones and a few other high street retailers in the centre but there are lots of independents too.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and think St Helens could take a few ideas from this little Lancastrian town.
