A PROPERTY which once housed an independent St Helens book store has been placed on the market.
The building, which houses takeaway Kasper Eats, on Westfield Street, is listed for sale - with an asking price of £350,000 listed on Rightmove.
The property was previously used to house Wardleworths book shop, a store which closed in 2019 after 40 years in the town.
The building lay empty for a spell before being sold and converted to a takeaway on the ground floor.
Now it is back on the market.
A notice advertising its sale states that the building houses a takeaway business to the ground floor which has been trading for around 12 months.
There are also vacant offices on the first floor, with an independent entrance.
The advert adds that to the rear there is further potential for a one bedroom flat subject to the necessary planning and off street parking.
Westfield Street is home to a number of independent shops, cafes, pubs and businesses.
A number of pubs and bars have shutdown in recent years and remain dormant and what the future should hold for one of St Helens most well-known streets is often debated.
