A MAN charged with wounding in connection with an alleged attack in 2022 has made a first court appearance. 

Police were called to an alleged incident involving three men on North Road, facing Norman Salisbury Court, St Helens in the early hours of Thursday, June 30, 2022.

One of the men was found and taken to hospital with a head injury and puncture wounds to the front and back of his body, police said.

Two suspects were arrested on suspicion of assault and one man was subsequently charged in connection with the alleged incident.

Mark Glover, of North Road, St Helens, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. 

Glover appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Monday, March 18.

Magistrates sent the case to Liverpool Crown Court where the defendant is scheduled to go before a judge to issue a plea next month.

Glover, 41, was granted unconditional bail until his next appearance at the higher court on Monday, April 15.
