FORMER Rainhill High student Jayden Danns' dream week continued as he bagged two goals at Anfield in Liverpool's FA Cup win over Southampton last night.

Three days earlier the 18-year-old had helped Liverpool to a Carabao Cup triumph at Wembley as he came on as a second-half substitute as Jurgen Klopp’s massively-depleted side beat Chelsea 1-0.

On Wednesday, Danns, who only made his debut at Wembley, scored twice in 15 minutes to earn the man of the match award in the fifth round FA cup tie.

He came off the bench to score Liverpool's second of a 3-0 victory in the 73rd minute.

Danns also fired home his second in the 88th minute after goalkeeper Joe Lumley parried Conor Bradley’s drive.

It was only his third appearance for the Reds having made his debut the previous Wednesday against Luton Town in the Premier League to cap off a whirlwind week.

His display earned the plaudits of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who said: “Exceptional talent. Of course it is not natural that a boy 18, is as calm as you like.

"The second goal calm as you like.”

Danns attended Rainhill High, and won the Year 8 Merseyside Schools Cup with the school in 2019, scoring a goal in a 4-1 defeat of Bebington Sports College at Liverpool’s Wyncote Sports Centre.
