SOME cynical comments on social media about the plans for the town centre.
Yes... St Helens town centre flatlined years ago.
And needs one massive defibrillator to get it going again.
And the council has the money now to do it all up, to boost the town economy.
It won’t just say it and not do it!
All these comments saying that they are gonna leave it as a wasteland... No they’re not!
Look at the state of the Hardshaw Centre. It’s needed knocking down for years. And where the car park is, through the market, B&M etc, that needs to go.
The town needs doing up and the businesses that left to go to retail parks (plus more big names) will come back, making the town thrive again.
So this funded project NEEDS to be, and WILL be, done. And that “hideous” bus station will be amazing when done.
Have faith instead of going on about it not happening.
St Helens and Earlestown will be buzzing again.
