THE Bishop of Liverpool, Paul Bayes, is encouraging churches and schools to use their harvest services to help support their local foodbank.
Bishop Paul says that we live in a world where Gandhi said there is enough for everyone’s need, but not for everyone’s greed. Please support our local foodbank which is doing such a great job locally.
From April to June, 891 people were fed from the various supply hubs.
Food donations are down this year so harvest celebrations give us a great opportunity to make a difference.
The St Helens Foodbank is based at the Hope Centre in Atherton Street.
Please bring non-perishable food to the Hope Centre or please phone me on 01744 736518 and I will arrange to collect it.
Cash donations from the sale of harvest produce are also most welcome.
Thank you all for your support in the past and I very much look forward to your continuing support in the future.
Canon Geoff Almond,
St Helens Foodbank Operations Committee
