OUR general waste wheelie bin should have been collected last Friday.
After contacting the council twice – lo and behold they still haven’t come out to collect them, nor have they given a reasonable explanation as to why they have failed to provide a pretty simple service.
In both phone calls to the council, I asked what I should do with the rubbish I have piling up by my kitchen back door. They said I have two options, firstly, leave it in my back garden, which we all know is completely impractical and unhygienic. Secondly, take it to the tip myself.
What am I and others paying council tax for really? The fun of it?
The last thing I asked was if I could put the excess rubbish on top of or at the side of the bins. The woman on the other end said she wouldn’t advise that as they wouldn’t take them and I would get a fine of £1,000.
But then what am I to do with this week’s excess?
