BILLINGE maintained their promotion form after beat local rivals FC St Helens 2-0 at Barrows Farm.
In the first 20 minutes both teams had very few chances but it was Billinge who were creating the better with both Redmond and Bowden coming close.
In the 25th minute some good work by Steve Wolhurther down the Billinge right found Jon Redmond unmarked on the far post to put the ball past Brinksman in the St Helens goal.
In the second half Billinge applied more pressure playing three at the back. It was not long before Brinksman was brought into action saving well from Anderson and Wolhurter.
But in the 65th minute the St Helens keeper was rooted to the spot when Liam Bowden hit the top corner of the net with a 25yard rocket to put the Storks 2-0 up.
Brinksman again pulled some greats saves off from Anderson and Ablewhite to give his young side a respectable performance against the promotion challengers.
