SAINTS double winning squad from 1996 is set to reassemble to play a rugby league legends side at Knowsley Road in aid of cancer patient Steve Prescott.
The fixture, scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 22, could see the likes of Bobbie Goulding, Scott Gibbs and Chris Joynt once again wearing the red vee against some of rugby league's greatest names from the past.
Ex-Saints full back Prescott, 32, who scored twice in the Ultimate Comeback' Wembley Challenge Cup final of 1996, is suffering from a rare form of cancer in the abdominal region.
The rugby league community has responded to news of the father-of-two's illness with a show of immense generosity.
