AFTER a challenging start to the season, Ruskin Park roared back to form with a record breaking victory over The Gentlemen of Moore RUFC from Warrington.

Within minutes of kick-off the Ruskin had opened the scoring with a well worked try for Ruskin Captain Sam Hughes, and the tries just kept on coming.

The Ruskin team shared 20 tries in total with the pick of bunch going to front-rower Paul Owen who crossed for his first try since playing junior rugby almost 10 years ago.

Ben Hughes and Ben Smith stood out in the backs, with the Birch brothers Chris and Martin both running in tries. In the forwards Jordan Bligh and Danny Thornber worked relentlessly and strong running Chris Dyson ran in a brace of tries from the back row.

Having been 64-0 at half-time, Ruskin maintained the pressure and ran in a further 10 tries in the second half. With a final score of 120-0, this is thought to be the highest score ever recorded by Ruskin Park.
