A THREE months wait is finally over as St Cuthbert’s year eight boys’ team head to Wembley.
Defeating Colchester 17-16 in a dramatic semi final in Leeds on May 22 has booked the St Helens boys a place in the Champion Schools’ final today, Friday.
They will meet Kirklees-based Honley in the showdown at Richmond Athletic Ground in London, kick off 1pm, before joining the champions’ lap of honour at Wembley tomorrow in the build-up to the Challenge Cup final between Hull FC and Wigan Warriors.
St Cuthbert’s, semi-finalists last year, succesfully came through the north west competition to reach the national stage.
They accounted for last year’s winners Howard and Effingham, of London, in the last 16 and Telford’s Burton Borough in the quarter finals.
