DAVE Chisnall produced the best result of the St Helens throwers in the weekend’s action at Barnsley Metrodome.
He reached the semi finals of Players Championship Five on Sunday but bowed out 6-1 to Michael van Gerwen, who lost 6-0 to Ian White in the final.
Chisnall knocked out Simon Whitlock 6-3 in the quarter finals, after taking the scalp of Jamie Lewis, Kyle Anderson, and Vincent Kamphuis in earlier rounds.
In the other matches Michael Smith lost 6-3 to Josh Payne in the second round while Stephen Bunting and Alan Tabern fell at the first hurdle, 6-4 to James Wilson and 6-5 to Rowby-John Rodriguez respectively.
Chisnall fell 6-3 to Gary Sanderson in the last eight of Saturday’s Players Championship Four.
Smith reached the quarter finals of Friday’s Players Championship Three but was then knocked out by Alan Norris 6-3.
