FOUR St Helens Striders took on the Standish Trail 10k race on Saturday afternoon to begin the weekend of racing.

In wet conditions Neil Hunter was the first Strider to cross the finish line in 46:54 followed by Gill Lee in 52:35, Neil Rigby in 56:43 and Andrea Hill Jones in 1:07:26

On Sunday saw Chris Reid and Rebecca McKenna travel to Rhyl for the Rhyl 10 miler.

Whilst in Blackpool hardy Striders took on blustery conditions in the Great North West Half Marathon. David Navis was the first Strider home in 1:41:26, followed by Lisa Cheers in 1:46:12 and Stuart Tagg in 1:57:47.

St Helens Striders fielded teams at the North West Cross Country race taking place in Birchwood, Warrington. Paul Demore, Kevin Outen, Paul Hargate and Alex Abbott ensured that the men's team came 10th in the league.

Whilst Gemma Webster and Jade Booth represented the women ensuring the team came 13th.

Further afield Tony Dagnall travelled to Chippenham and took part in the Castle Combe 10k, finishing in a time of 46:28 and finished third in his age category.
