St Helens archers took to the field at LSH Rugby Club on Friday to celebrate Halloween in the form of a fancy dress shoot.

The archers came out in force for this the first Halloween shoot held by the club.

Both Senior and junior archers took to the field to shoot a Junior Warwick round, two dozen arrows at 40 yards and two dozen arrows at 30 yards, the archers put in some great scores on the night.

The evening was finished off with a meal, a raffle and the awards of the overall 1st and 2nd place for the evening together with the club members receiving there summer metrics badges for the summer postal.

David Littler said: “It’s great to see so many members attend the shoot, and take part in a fun shoot, let’s hope this is the start of many more.

"The club has grown over the last year and we now have more juniors on board than we have had before. It’s great to see them out enjoying themselves.”

One of the group's up and coming archers has also been accepted onto The Northern Academy.

Kieran Shirley has gone from strength to strength since joining the club at the end of 2012.

Shirley has showed great commitment in his shooting and has worked extremely hard over the last couple of years.

The club is hoping to encourage more juniors to take part in tournaments and progress to the level they want to.
