THREE of St Helens girls u16s rugby league section have been selected for the England girls futures programme.

Selection was gained after undertaking a tough and rigorous process which included a series of local trial games, a number of selection training sessions, four games playing regional rugby league for the North West, and a training camp in Wakefield.

Just 24 girls have been selected from across all regions to take part in the programme, which indentifies the best players in the country to develop them for the step up into open age and identify potential future players for the England International squad.

The girls will be trained by some of the top coaches in the country, including the England Women's Head coach Steve McCormick, the girls also get the chance to train alongside the England Women's International squad at the England Teams training base in Bradford.

Selection is just awards for the time, commitment and work ethic that each player has put into their training, playing and lifestyle. Congratulations to Chloe Hammond, Megan Garvey and Shannon Smith for their fantastic achievements to date.
