AINSDALE elected to bat on the white Rainhill wicket and progressed slowly against the accuracy of Qureshi (4 for 52 from 29) and Williams.
At 60 for 5 from 30 overs, Ainsdale were struggling but Rainhill failed to capitalise on their good start.
A partnership of 100 from Khan (100no) and Tyms (34) allowed Ainsdale to declare at tea on 212 for 6 after 63 overs. Friar adding a quickfire 21.
Rainhill’s reply got off to a poor start with both openers being dismissed with only 3 runs on the board.
Swift (3 for 16) put the ball in the right area’s and got his reward. Khan (4 for 26 ) and Friar (3 for 51) helped themselves to wickets and apart from Rotheram (29) and Hayes (26), no one else shown much resistance.
Rainhill being dismissed for 112 means a relegation dogfight for the rest of the season.
