MARTIN Murray will defend his WBA interim middleweight title in Australia on November 30 if he gets his visa sorted out.
The bout against Garth Wood is not the fight he really would have chosen, but after being frozen out since pushing champion Sergio Martinez close in Argentina last April, Murray needed to get back into the ring.
The Fingerpost fighter also had to take this fight or lose his interim belt.
Murray tweeted: “It is the only option I have got. Garth Wood is ranked 10 with the WBA and I need to otherwise I lose my interim title.
“Although I have been training, the 10 week training camp starts Monday (today).
“I’ll be treating this fight like any other. This fight is as important as any I have had.”
