CRUSADERS maintained their 100 per cent start to the National Conference League season following a victorious trip to Yorkshire.
However they were made to work hard for the two points by the game Dewsbury outfit.
It took late tries from Louis Taylor completing a hat-trick and Mike Houghton to sealing a double to clinch the 30-22 victory.
Heath never trailed in the game but were never all that comfortable either.
Man of the Match Sean Leicester scored one try and had a hand in all three of Taylor's efforts with Shaun Quinn slotting three goals.
Thatto Heath Crusaders 'A' 66-22 Halton Simms Cross.
Meanwhile at Close Street, Halton Simms Cross were ruthlessly put to the sword by Heath's North West Men's League Premier Division outfit. Heath romped into a 32-0 inside half an hour, as Darren Woods grabbed four tries and Aaron Dancer three along the way.
Other impressive performances came from debutant Kyle Dolan, the returning Andrew Stott and Nathan Ashurst. Heath are in action at Close Street against Myton Warriors on Saturday in the Xamax BARLA National Cup with a 2.30pm kick off.
