SAINTS Reserves defeated Wakefield Trinity Reserves 28-16 to record their second win of the campaign.

High profile NRL Waqa Blake was dropped down to the reserves for this one and he took hi place in a youthful side looking to bounce back from defeat by Leeds last time out.

Joe Law opened the scoring for the visitors with an unconverted try, but that was cancelled out by Ben Will’s try in the corner.

Two Thomas Delaney tries put the visitors 12-4 up before Ben Will added his second for Saints to cut the deficit to 12-8 at the break.

Jonny Vaughan forced his way past plenty of would-be tacklers 51 minutes to level at 12-12.

Vaughan again crossed the whitewash in a similar manner to his first to put Saints 16-12 to the good.

And they stretched that lead when Alfie Sinclair powered over from close range, with George Whitby adding his first conversion of the afternoon to make it 22-12.

With Trinity on the attack on Saints line, half back Harry Robertson claimed a loose offload and sprinted the full length, beating several Wakefield players en route.

Trinity had the last word with Delaney completing his hat-trick.

The Reserves next game is at home to Hull FC on 20 April at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
