SAINTS boss Justin Holbrook says that Luke Thompson has reacted positively after missing out on playing for England in Denver.

Super League's form front rower made the journey to America with four other Saints - but remained 18th man.

However, the powerhouse prop reported to training on Monday upbeat, refreshed and ready to play.

Holbrook said: "I was disappointed for Luke not being in the 17 because I thought he deserved it.

"But from speaking to him today he was in a good place and was happy for the experience of the week.

"It was good recognition for him to be in the 19 - it must have been Wayne (Bennett) plan to take a look at him in the squad. He is fine with that."

The rest of the international contingent reported to training on Monday - and are all fit to play against Wakefield on Friday.

Holbrook said: "They saw medical staff and had a massage and have all pulled up fine.

"They have all enjoyed the week and the experience and all of them did themselves and the club proud.

"They are breathing easier since they came back - the high altitude affects the breathing so if anything they may feel better.

However, we are cautious of how we build their week this week and we have to be smart with them."
