FOLLOWING this morning's pitch inspection Friday’s Saints fixture against Salford has been postponed - but the club will try to get the game on for Sunday at 4pm.
A club statement read: "There are parts of the surface that remain frozen even though it has been covered for more than 10 days.
"There will be a pitch inspection on Sunday at 10am and then a further one at 12 noon.
"With the current forecast so changeable we are making all efforts to get the game on.
"At present, if the pitch is playable then the fixture will kick off at 4pm. This decision is to allow the pitch the greatest chance to thaw.
"We fully understand the disruption this may cause fans but with a very busy fixture list both clubs are keen to get the game on if we can this weekend."
The club confirmed that all tickets remain valid for Sunday’s fixture and, if the game cannot be played on that day, the rearranged fixture.
