WEEKEND racing this week brought up a mixed bag of events.
Elizabeth Phillipson & Darren Eccles firstly took part in thunder run, a team ultra 24 hour endurance event based in the Peak District. The event includes running laps of a 10k off road trail course with your team covering as many miles as possible. Similarly Rob Andrews took part in a 100mile event in which he covered 5 laps covering 45kilometres of the course before sadly a knee injury took over the event for him.
Closer to home three Striders dabbled in triathlons at the weekend combining running with an additional two other elements; swimming and cycling.
Tony Dagnall and Carol Foster both completed their first of this challenge at the inaugural GoTri event at Queens Park on Boundary Road.
Slightly further in our neighbouring town Karen Mason completed her second triathlon this year the This Girl Can Tri event in Warrington and came in second position overall.
