ST Helens Sutton A.C.’s senior runners and seven of them took advantage this week of two 5K races being held in the area.
Five ladies competed in the Tony Barnes race held on an undulating course in Sefton Park.
First finisher for the club was dual member Rachel Fairclough (SL) who ran a season’s best time of 32 min.55 secs.
Rachel Beesley (SL) ran 36 min.36 secs, Amy Corfield’s time of 37 min.33 secs was a PB as was Alex Abbott (SM)’s time of 37 min.51 secs and competing the turnout was veteran Karen Harrison (L40), finishing in 45 min.22 secs.
The other 5km was one of Liverpool Harriers’ Mystery races which was held in Wavertree Park where the flat course encourages fast running.
Here Joyce Warne ran 22 min.42 secs. and Barry Cryer 25 min.35 secs.
