SOUTH Sydney Rabbitohs skipper Greg Inglis says his team will not be taking Saints lightly when they run out in front of a fervent Langtree Park crowd on Sunday night.

The massive full back dismissed talk that the Australians view their English counterparts as inferior – and expects the men in the red vee to be dangerous, highlighting James Roby in particular.

Speaking to the Star two hours after landing at Manchester Airport, Inglis said: “I am really looking forward to the game – and understand it is going to be a sell-out.

“I have been over here a number of times, playing for Australia in English weather in front of English crowds.

“I love coming over here and playing in front of the fans with all the banter.

“This is a great initiative – and one that will hopefully keep going.”

He gave the impression of not knowing a great deal about the Saints team - possibly a result of none of them being picked for the recent Four Nations - but he did single out hooker Roby as the key threat.

“The St Helens achievement last year shows that you don’t have to win rep honours to win a competition. Every man who takes that field will be a danger.

“They play such good footy together and we know we have a challenge ahead of us, we have just got to do our homework throughout the week.

“They play a different brand of footy and are all a little bit elusive. They all work as one unit – so it is hard to pick one danger man.

“James Roby is one of their key players and if he can get their forwards moving then they are going to be hard to stop.

“We will do our homework on them this week – and our coach Michael Maguire was over here with Wigan and knows a fair bit about them,” Inglis said.

As for feeling superior, Inglis added: “It is not the case that we look down on the English game. NRL agents have been coming over here poaching players and we have seen a lot over the last few years – and that is great to see.”
