SAINTS are still waiting to know the full extent of the shoulder injury sustained by experienced forward Jon Wilkin.
At the time of going to press yesterday the Saints coach Nathan Brown was yet to receive the full specialist’s report.
Wilkin, who has gone under the radar with some impressive displays in recent weeks, damaged his shoulder during the first half of Friday’s win over Salford.
The versatile packman, who is one of the team leaders, appeared to land awkwardly as he gamely chased an attacking grubber in the first half.
He was led off the field in some agony, with his left arm being supported by club doctor Simon Perritt.
If he is out for a significant length of time his presence will be sorely missed because his contribution to matchday is different to what the other backrowers bring to the table.
Saints do not have a game at the weekend, with the Challenge Cup quarter finals taking place.
