But Chelsea bounced back, with their direct up the middle approach from substitute Jeremie Boga paying dividends.
Boga pegged back two before Chelsea equalised with a 66th minute penalty from Lewis Baker afte keeper Peter Gulacsi had brought down Patrick Bamford in the box.
Liverpool’s next action at Langtree Park will be on Wednesday, November 28 against Borussia Dortmund in the Next Gen.
Liverpool confirmed today that vital group deciding clash against Italian giants Inter Milan will be at Saints’ ground on Tuesday, January 8 with a 7pm kick off.
