I WOULD like to pass on a sincere thank you to the council for the stylish but totally useless markings showing the centre line of Coronation Road as it approaches Kiln Lane.
Thanks too for the lines showing cars where to stop before venturing on to Kiln Lane.
The majority of cars going on to Kiln Lane have no option but to straddle this centre line because of all the cars parked right up to the junction.
Very often cars park on Kiln Lane so close to the junction it is impossible for drivers to see up the lane for approaching traffic.
This totally thoughtless parking also happens at the junction of Coronation Road and St George’s Avenue where the areas previously created as visibility splays are now regularly occupied by as many as six to eight cars per splay.
In consequence the tarmac areas are becoming a rutted, oily mess.
Most cars park with all four wheels on the areas with a total disregard for pedestrians.
Where is the yellow paint which is so urgently needed?
