THANKS to the Star for reporting on the night of prayer for the Syrian refugees at St Helens Baptist Church.
The church is providing a practical response by collecting for CalAid, supporting the council and MPs in their official response from St Helens by pledging accommodation and petitioning government to act.
However as people of faith we fundamentally believe in the power of prayer, and that prayer alongside these practical and physical actions are an appropriate start to a response which will only increase in time.
Tim Haines, pastor at St Helens Baptist Church
