ONE lucky Star family will soon be able to soar with the kings of the sky at the new Birds of Prey experience at Knowsley Safari Park...

Your St Helens Star has teamed up with the popular visitor attraction to promote their competition to win a family ticket of four to experience the spectacular wildlife setting.

In addition to the new Birds of Prey thrills, you can keep your eyes peeled for Bronze, Silver and Gold, the lion cubs born in February and named to support Britain in their Olympic sporting achievements.

Brand-new to the safari park in 2012 is the Birds of Prey Experience, showcasing displays every day at 2pm and 4pm. Get up close and experience – if you dare – the birds of prey centre, where you can watch the feeding of the vultures and flying displays where the birds will swoop just inches from your head.

Graham Bessant, professional falconer comments: “The aviaries and enclosures at Knowsley Safari Park have been specifically designed to reflect the birds’ natural habitats as closely as possible and the eagles, falcons and vultures are all settling in well to their new home.

“It is amazing to see them soaring over the elephant enclosure and interacting naturally with all the sights and sounds of the other animals at the Safari Park.”

With more than 700 wild animals and a safari space covering 550 acres, visitors to Knowsley Safari Park have the opportunity to get acquainted with creatures from zebras to lions as they roam freely throughout their large enclosures.

Watch out for those boisterous baboons!

Visitors will also get the opportunity to get up close and personal at the Giraffe Tower and the Elephant Platform, watch the sea lions splash about, or bravely venture into the creepy crawly ‘bug house’.
