A MAN accused of stabbing his 22-year-old neighbour Heather Dyer to death has been remanded in custody to appear in court on August 8.

Paul Lyon, 44, is charged with murdering Heather Dyer on Chapel Street.

It is alleged he knifed her in the street in the early hours of Saturday morning following a confrontation over music coming from her home.

Emergency crews were called but she died at the scene.

Another man, William Taylor, 25, who was with friends at Miss Dyer’s flat is recovering in Whiston Hospital after also being stabbed. Lyon is accused of attempted to murder Mr Taylor.

Lyon is yet to enter a plea to either charge and after the case went briefly before Liverpool on Wednesday he was further remanded in custody until a preliminary hearing on August 8.
