ROLLERS at the ready! Drew Quayle’s acclaimed comedy play The Salon is to return to the St Helens Theatre Royal next month and St Helens Star is giving you the opportunity to experience the side-splitting performance on opening night.

The Star, in partnership with Regal Entertainment, and Toni & Guy, Church Street, are offering one lucky reader the chance to win their very own salon experience in celebration of The Salon’s return to its home in St Helens.

You could win a prize package, including cut and blow dry styling at Toni & Guy, Church Street, as well as tickets to the opening night performance of The Salon at St Helens Theatre Royal on Thursday, March 31 for you and three friends.

This hysterical show stars Leanne Campbell of Juice FM, alongside original cast member and renowned Liverpool actress, Lynne Fitzgerald; newcomer, Leah Murphy and Brick up the Mersey Tunnels’ Roy Brandon.

Directed by Sylvie Gatrill, The Salon is sure to bring a laughter line to even the most botoxed of foreheads when it totters into the Theatre Royal with a complete makeover from Thursday, March 31, running to Saturday, April 9.

Jane Joseph, producer of The Salon said: “The Salon was the first new comedy drama produced independently by St Helens Theatre Royal.

“We have never looked back after this huge success and we are so excited to see The Salon return.

“I hope the people of St Helens and Merseyside will continue to enjoy and applaud the plays we produce at this wonderful theatre.”

The average day at County Road hair and beauty salon “Curl up and Dye” involves shouting, crying and singing, with the odd beauty treatment thrown in for good measure.

Carol, Sheila and Tia are trying to deal with customers while all around them, their lives are blown about like a loose ‘set’ in a high wind.

Carol wants to find true love, Tia wants to be a pop star and Sheila just wants a toy boy. If you mix in a boss whose camp as Christmas, a plastic gangster who is trying to take over the salon, a hysterical drama queen and a whole lot of vodka, it all adds up to a brilliantly funny night out.
