A MAN has denied the murder of a solicitor from Rainhill.
Philip Martins, aged 47, pleaded not guilty at Chester Crown Court on to the murder of Linda Bakewell, a partner at Liverpool Old Hall Street law firm, Armstrongs.
Ms Bakewell, aged 45, from Rainhill, was found dead in the boot of a car parked in Shevington Walk, Widnes, shortly after 8am, on November 24, 2010.
A post mortem confirmed she died from asphyxiation.
Judge Roger Dutton remanded Martins, of Somerford Walk, Weates Close, Widnes, in custody until a pre trial review on April 20.
His trial is set to start at Chester Crown Court on September 19.
