MANY people in rugby league would argue about what factor is most vital for a successful side.

I have no doubt that one of the major reasons a side succeeds is the presence of confidence.

And I am sure most people would agree we had that in abundance earlier this year.

Confidence is a strange thing though, as nobody knows where it comes from and nobody knows where it goes to!

One thing is certain, we must find that missing confidence and start producing the sort of performances that the rugby league public associate with the Saints.

I think I speak for all the players when I thank the fans who attended the game at Leeds.

The fans were so dedicated and could have easily left prior to the end of the game but as always they supported the team right to the end.

It would be great to reward the dedication of the fans with a victory over Huddersfield this week.

On a positive note Sean Long is back at the club this week and his input in training will be invaluable.

I am sure he will be itching to get back on the field.

But it is rumoured he is locked away in a cage on match day to avoid a premature return!

I would also like to congratulate the lads in the squad who made the England academy touring side to Australia.

Fortunately we get to keep Ian Hardman and James Roby due to their involvement in the first team.

The coaches feel that regular Super League rugby will assist their development into rounded professionals and saints regulars.

I know Ian hardman will be looking to sell his speedos after being told he is not going!

All offers to Saints rugby league club!
