HALTON based arts group Galligu are gearing up for another memorable Spikeybike festival, the annual custom and classic bike show with a difference.

Held on Sunday 22 August at Spike Island, West Bank, Widnes, Spikeybike is a free event that has grown stronger each year. This year's event is expected to be even bigger and better, featuring 'works of art' from matt black 'rat bikes' to shiny chrome dream machines. There will also be top bands during the day, including Loki, The Chimps, Skecher and Becrazed.

DJ Anno will keep the day rolling along with his loud and lovely sounds. On site will also be stalls, food, homemade ice cream and plenty of other fun stuff.

Last year's event saw over 2,000 people from all over the north west turn up throughout the day to see hundreds of motorbikes and one or two push bikes.

Annie Holligan and Tomas Richards of Galligu work hard for ten months to ensure the day is well organised and even try a bit of magic with the weather.

Annie says; "Many thanks to Alldays who gave us £200 towards the event and sponsors GWD Autos, Halton Taxis, North West Customs and Safe Biker. Also thanks to supporters of the event Halton Borough Council, Matt Uren, Anthony and the Rangers.

"A big thanks to all the volunteers who will help make this yet another great Galligu community event. We couldn't do all the work we do without them. You know who you are."
