A CHARITY rugby union match will take place on Saturday (April 25) to raise money for little braveheart Adam Sandells and leukaemia research.
Newton-le-Willows RUFC’s 1st team will take on a side of past players and guests at Newton Sports Club, Crow Lane (kick off 4pm).
The fixture is in memory of Ian Skeech, the former Swinton rugby league player who died from leukaemia, and the founder of the club’s mini rugby section, Vinnie Hughes.
Money raised will be shared between leukaemia research and five-year-old Adam, whose courageous battle with childhood cancer neuroblastoma has won our readers’ hearts.
The St Peters Primary, Newton, schoolboy is undergoing pioneering treatment funded by £60,000 raised following an appeal featured in the St Helens Star.
