AN inspirational young mum has been chosen as a guest of honour for the Prince’s Trust’s glitzy Diamond Ball.

Eighteen-year-old Nicola Bremner, from Newton-le-Willows, is set to be a star turn at the dazzling fund-raising event in Liverpool’s St Georges Hall on Tuesday, December 9.

Nicola, who first signed up for the trust’s 12-week personal development programme when she fell pregnant at 15, has just helped them complete yet another important youth project - sprucing up the old Carr Mill Community Centre.

Team leader, Dave Sheridan beamed: “When Nicola first joined us she was very quiet and shy, but now she’s delivering professional speeches about her experiences with the trust. At first, she needed something to help build her confidence, but she has come on leaps and bounds in the last 18 months.

“They couldn’t have picked a better volunteer as a young ambassador for the Diamond Ball. Nicola is living proof of what the Prince’s Trust is all about.”

Nicola, who is now also happily studying towards Admin and Youth Work NVQs at college, will join other success stories at the glitzy event next month.

All funds raised on the night will help other disadvantaged youngsters across the North West realise their potential - helping them to transform their lives by returning to work, training, education or business.

Diamond Ball organiser, Steve Sealey said: “This event is the highlight of the committee’s fund-raising year and gives the Prince’s Trust a chance to say thank-you to all our supporters in the North West who come along for a very special evening. I am also delighted that this year tickets will be available to the general public, so everyone is welcome to join us for a night to remember.”
