A DRIVER is reported to have suffered a serious injury following a crash in Newton-le-Willows.
Residents reported that a collision took place along Southworth Road in Newton-le-Willows this afternoon, with the emergency services seen rushing to the scene.
Merseyside Police has confirmed the basic details of the incident, with two vehicles reported to have collided at around 2.15pm on Monday, May 13.

A spokesperson has confirmed that the driver of one of the vehicles has suffered a serious injury as a result of the crash, and is believed to have been taken to hospital for treatment.
Both vehicles are reported to have been damaged in the incident, as well as a parked car which was hit during the collision.
The collision is reported to have involved a white Mercedes and a black Skoda, and a parked black Volkswagen.
Traffic delays were reported in Newton as police closed the road in both directions following the incident, although these have since been removed.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm we attended a road traffic collision in Newton-le-Willows this afternoon, Monday 13 May.
At around 2.15pm, we received a report of a collision involving three vehicles, a white Mercedes, a black Skoda and a parked black Volkswagen.
"Road closures were in place while emergency services attended the incident.
"We are appealing for witnesses, and for any CCTV and dash camera footage which may have captured the incident, to please get in touch to assist the investigation."
