A RECENTLY-LAUNCHED business networking group has held its first event to help support entrepreneurs in the town.

In April, business owner Leonora Paul and former St Helens Chamber employee John Jackson successfully launched their first business networking event as part of their new venture, Business Connections Networking.

This was launched after the collapse of St Helens Chamber in March left a noticeable gap in the business networking landscape.

The launch event was held on April 24 at Ruskin Sports Village and drew a diverse group of local business owners and entrepreneurs, keen on building new connections and gaining fresh insights into business growth strategies.

Organisers said the morning was abuzz with energy as attendees networked over breakfast, exchanging ideas, and discussing potential collaborations.

The highlight of the event was a presentation by Paalan Sood, who shared the "5 Secrets to Growing Your Business on a Zero Budget", which was said to have added immense value and also inspired many to think innovatively about business growth.

The new networking group has attracted positive feedback from local business owners.

Kirstie Herriman said: “A great event at an easily accessible location, with a welcoming atmosphere and a great cross-section of people. Would recommend for anyone looking to connect in St Helens.”

Meanwhile, Gary Brash added: "This is definitely worth a couple of hours of your time, very well organised with outstanding contributions from local businesses.”

Leonora and John look forward to welcoming business owners to their next event on the May 22 at Ruskin Sports Village and say they are excited at the prospect of continuing to build a vibrant business network in St Helens.
