THE owner of the Card Stall that used to occupy the central court of the Hardshaw Centre says he is "very pleased" about the public’s reaction to its new home in St Mary’s Market.
The Hardshaw Centre is in its final month – with only One Below and Heron Foods remaining – with other business having moved elsewhere in the town centre or closed ahead of the shopping centre’s demolition to make way for regeneration plans.
One such business to move is The Card Stall which last month confirmed that alongside the Watch Stall it had relocated to St Mary’s Market opposite Cassandra’s Café.
Owner Mike Mullen said: “We are doing alright and I’m very pleased with the public’s reaction to us staying in St Helens and supporting us.
“It is sad though as we used to get lots of customers from out of town like Huyton and Leigh etc and I’m worried they won’t know – with them not being local – that we are still here, and just round the corner really.
“Hopefully in time people will realise we are here to stay and come back, but I’m very happy with the new site and all the local support.”
