THE turnout by St Helens voters for the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Mayoral and Police & Crime Commissioner election has been revealed.

On Thursday, May 2 voters in the borough and across the region went to the polls.

There are no local authority elections this year, but, locally, there are Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) Mayoral and Merseyside Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections.

In St Helens, ballot papers were returned to the count venue at Sutton Leisure Centre for verification following the closing of the polls at 10pm last night.

In the LCRCA Mayoral election, the number of verified votes cast in St Helens Borough was 26,671 and the turnout was 19.15 per cent.

In the PCC election, the number of verified votes cast in St Helens Borough was 26,590 and the turnout was 19.09 per cent.

Ballots will be counted on Saturday, May 4 and the results of each election posted on the following pages:
