FIRE crews were called to put out a small gorse fire on Billinge Hill last night.
One fire crew was called to a fire on Billinge Hill, Rainford Road, Billinge just before 7.25pm on Tuesday, April 23.
Pictures had circulated on social media after residents spotted the fire.
Crews arrived to find a small area of gorse on fire and also around fifty metres of fencing.
They extinguished using pump action water backpacks, with no damage reported to the nearby area.
Firefighters left the scene at 8.26pm.
