A MAN was arrested after police were called to a report of a fight in St Helens town centre.
Police cars with sirens flashing were seen in the area of Chalon Way West, near to Tontine multi-storey car park and The Range shop on Wednesday afternoon, shortly after 4pm.
A spokeswoman confirmed officers had been called to reports of a fight.
A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and was taken to custody.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to a report of a group of males fighting on Chalon Way West in St Helens at around 4.10pm today, Thursday April 4.
"A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault by beating. He is in police custody to be questioned."
