A POLICE helicopter was deployed following a police pursuit over the weekend.
A car was reported being driven in a dangerous manner across the border from St Helens into Warrington.
Merseyside police has confirmed that it received reports of the incident at around 2pm on Saturday.
The car – a black Audi A3 – was spotted driving dangerously in Parr and Burtonwood, where it was abandoned on Clay Lane.
Residents reported that the occupants of the car fled and jumped through gardens in a bid to escape.
As well as the force helicopter, a huge police presence was spotted in Burtonwood, including around 12 police cars and four police vans.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “Just after 2pm on Saturday, March 30, we received a report of a black Audi A3 being driven dangerously in Parr and Burtonwood.
“The vehicle was later recovered in Burtonwood and the driver made off.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
