A BUSINESS owner's life has changed for the better since launching a family dog grooming company a year ago.

After a series of stressful jobs and the breakdown of her marriage, Liz Partington took a gamble to renovate an empty property in Parr and launch a family dog grooming business with her sister Claire.

Although there was "blood, sweat, and tears" involved in the renovation process, Liz said that her life is much more rewarding after a year of providing high-quality pet grooming services with her sister.

Speaking about her first year in the business, Liz, 51, said: "The past year has gone very, very quick and the difference in myself is amazing.

"I feel so much better as I'm enjoying what I'm doing and we are getting a great response and a lot of people coming back, which shows we're doing something right."

With Signature Grooming offering a range of services such as fur trims, wash and blow dry, and deep cleans, the family team also offers grooming extras like teeth cleaning, nail cleaning, dog treats and home and pick-up visits.

It is this wide package and commitment to high-quality that has kept a large percentage of customers returning to the Ashton's Green Drive business, Liz said.

Liz, a former school site manager and Wigan Council employee, added: "It's a great feeling that most of our clients have come back and many of them have said that their dog hasn't been treated as well before.

"There does seem to be a really nice community where we know our clients on a first-name basis and they're happy for us to come and pick their dogs up.

"We are so grateful for their continued support because we wouldn't be here without them."
