RESIDENTS in parts of St Helens have been hit by a power cut today, Tuesday.

Scottish Power said the issue was reported to them shortly before 11.30am and an engineer will be sent to fix the fault.

The power cut is affecting properties on Merton Bank Road and surrounding streets, around the Pocket Nook area. 

It is expected power will be restored by 2.30pm.

A Scottish Power statement said: "There is a power cut affecting the WA9 area of St Helens.

"We had no advance warning of this and first became aware of it at11:28am. Our next available engineer will attend site to find and fix the fault as quickly and as safely as possible.

"We expect your electricity supply to be restored by 2:30pm.

"If you require any further help or support, please call us on 105. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
