A FORMER town centre bar remains on the market, with a new estate agent seeking to make a sale.

The venue on Duke Street, which was known as Mollie's, shut down in 2022 after St Helens Council revoked its licence.

The building, which has been used as a shop in the past, was previously been put up for auction and advertised by other estate agents.

Although its most recent use was as a nightclub, it has development potential subject to planning permission, estate agents say.

Nearby buildings such as the former Ena Shaw building opposite have been repurposed, with developers converting it to offices, a tea rooms and furniture store.

The listing on David Davies estate agents states: "It is located on one of St Helens main roads surrounded but local shops amenities and transport links.

"It was originally used as a nightclub but has development potential subject to planning permission.

"The building is vacant and is approximately 1,959 Sq. Ft.

"Accommodation briefly comprises:- ground Floor: bar area, seating area and W/C.

"To the first floor is a large open room and outside is a secure paved area to the side of the property.

"This commercial building is located off the A57 at the top of Duke Street by the main roundabout linking into the heart of the town centre and nearest hospital being approximately 2.2 miles.

"Duke Street is popular for its range of shops, bars, and local amenities."
