IT is was a show that St Helens has never seen anything quite like before.
As The World Tipped, an aerial theatre performance, took off on the grounds of Birchley Street car park on Saturday evening.
Hundreds flocked to watch the spectacular event, which was funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.
And many were engrossed in the compelling visual spectacle - featuring a giant screen and performers attached to ropes - which delivered a powerful message about climate change.
Centred around the fallout from the Copenhagen Climate Change conference in 2009, artistic director Wendy Hesketh-Ogilvie, who is from St Helens, had stressed that the show is "not a lecture", but relays a striking message about the climate crisis amid a backdrop of "beautiful imagery" and breathtaking aerial performances.
