NEW food hygiene ratings have been given to nine food establishments across St Helens, ranging from scores of two to five.

From a score of zero to five, food hygiene ratings are given to food handling businesses after an inspection has assessed how well they comply with food safety laws.

The rating reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of the inspection by the local authority.

Shakey J's

Shakey J's, on High Street in Newton-le-Willows, was given a five-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on March 7.

The burger and milkshake restaurant's hygienic food handling and management of food safety was rated as "Good" in the inspection.

Inspectors also found that the cleanliness and condition was "Good".

The Mount Garden

The Mount Garden, at Holy Trinity Church And Hall on Traverse Street in Fingerpost was given a five-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on March 2.

The cafe's hygienic food handling and management of food safety was rated as "Good" in the inspection.

Inspectors also found that the cleanliness and condition of the building was "Good".

Little George Quarter

Little George Quarter, on George Street in St Helens town centre, was given a five-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on March 8

The pub's hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of the building was rated as "Good" in the inspection.

Inspectors found that the management of food safety was "Very Good".

Red Cat

The Red Cat, on Red Cat Lane in Crank, was given a five-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on March 2.

The pub's hygienic food handling and management of food safety was rated as "Very Good" in the inspection.

Inspectors also found that the cleanliness and condition of the building was "Very Good".

Tesco Customer Cafe

Tesco Customer Cafe, at St Helens Linkway, was given a five-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on March 13.

The cafe's management of food safety was rated as "Very Good" in the inspection.

Inspectors found that the cafe's hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of the building were "Good".

Willowbees Cafe

Inspectors found that the cleanliness and condition of the building was "Good".

Pink Pearl
